ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES

Resource For Anyone Looking For Support

Many Ways to Help is accommodating to all disabilities no matter the severity. Clients are helped with everyday living tasks including basic life skills and getting around where they need to go. We proudly partner with the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD), which is a great resource for anyone looking for support (more information on this organization later).

The disabilities Many Ways to Help accommodates range from minimal to severe behavioral disabilities, which includes autism, cerebral palsy, intellectual challenges, and Down syndrome (trisomy 21). We also accommodate physical disabilities, such as veterans who were injured in the line of duty or individuals who have gone through an amputation or have movement disorders. Our clients with disabilities are assisted with their everyday living needs as well as have access to transportation in our van
By offering our services to adults with disabilities, we hope we are aiding in the goal to increase the public’s access to an alternative, more close-knit residential option. We also strive to help adults with disabilities realize the possibilities for them despite the challenges they face. Being “disabled” comes with a negative connotation, but it shouldn’t, and one of our goals is to mentor our clients and help them find their potential
Many Ways to help also aims to educate the public on the topic of disabilities, as there has always been a lack of awareness of various disabilities as well as an unfortunate stigma that comes with being “disabled.” Many disabled individuals can live at least semi-independently, hold jobs, and care for themselves. Anyone who has a disability knows that part of the challenge that comes with it is the public’s unawareness and sometimes unfair view of it.

By partnering with the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD), our clients have access to a slew of resources and information that can help them live their best lives. Among other things, with the help of APD, we can assist our clients in getting help with Medicaid/Medicare applications and transactions, employment services and advice, help with Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Our partnership with APD also gives our clients access to many of their services or information on how to obtain services including behavioral analyses, life skills courses, therapies (mental health, speech, occupational, etc.), medical equipment and supplies, personal supports, support coordination, and many other offerings. APD also has assessments that can help professionals and clients determine what level of support clients need, and these can be reconducted at any time to adjust care as needed. APD’s website also includes recent news and links to organizations that can help adults with disabilities if they are affected by a disaster.
Overall, adults with physical, behavioral, or intellectual disabilities can live fulfilling lives, and we strive to help them do that. By offering a supporting, loving environment, adults with disabilities can contribute greatly to society and their communities. Many Ways to Help is on a mission to help adults with disabilities find their potential and live life how they want to despite the challenges they may face.

Helping Veterans

Since we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we partially rely on donations from people like you so that we can continue to aid veterans, disabled adults, and young adults. We strive to provide our clients with attentive, caring assistance that helps them get through life more easily. To do this, we provide them with housing, food, basic necessities, advice, and/or transportation. Of course, this requires funding, and any donations are helpful in ensuring we can carry out our goals.
